Luis Soto completed a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Audiovisual Communication from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. During his years as a student, he worked for student-led media channels such as Pulso Estudiantil and produced, wrote and directed two short films shown in festivals all around the island.
In 2020 and through 2021, he got the opportunity to work in Washington D.C at the Young Americas Business Trust, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young Latin American entrepreneurs. First an intern, he then became a communications specialist working specifically as a strategist, copywriter, event host and moderator.
Luis is now a part of the Mentes Puertorriqueñas en Acción’s Agents of Change Empowerment and Retention Program (PARACa), a fellowship program focused on the development and implementation of capacity-building plans for nonprofit organizations, completing his responsibilities at Filantropía Puerto Rico as operations coordinator.
