
Xiomara Torres
Communications Manager
Hispanist, educator and communicator from Hormigueros, Puerto Rico. Xiomara likes to read, write, eat and go to the beach as much as possible. She has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Hispanic Studies specialized in contemporary Spanish literature. At the moment, she is a Ph.D. candidate student in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras. Her research revolves around the representation of maternities and anger in the narrative of Spanish female writers.
Xiomara has worked as a teacher, editor, columnist, and literary critic. She is interested in maternity issues, the scope of narratives in public opinion, education with a gender perspective, and the fight to end gender, race, and class inequality.
