Fundación Ángel Ramos & The Andrew F. Mellon Foundation

Ángel Ramos Foundation and Andrew F. Mellon Foundation have come together to support the Medioscopio project, a new initiative designed to develop critical thinking and analysis in media. The project is handled by the Center for Investigative Journalism (CPI), in collaboration with the Contemporary Art Museum and ASPIRA Puerto Rico.

Triple S Foundation

Triple-S Foundation invites everyone to the “First Symposium on Social Isolation and Loneliness”, to take place on March 29, 2022 at 12:30 pm. The symposium will be the first action in an effort to treat the physical effects that social isolation and loneliness can have on people. For more information, contact

Fundación Flamboyán

This March, Flamboyán Foundation started the “¡Todos a Leer!” campaign, an initiative where participants of a group of education organizations will have a chance to share experiences, learn about resources developed to support writing/reading at the K-3 level, come up with strategies that will strengthen their programs and/or help create new initiatives for their organizations.

Fundación Segarra Boerman

Segarra Boerman Foundation has officially announced the start of El Avispero, a new project where 8 organizations will share a space of critical reflection to strengthen their community-based work and connect the agenda of their communities with the urgent issues of the island. Along with El Enjambre, the group will reflect on their work while also receiving technical support and constant accompaniment in order to reach their goals.

Open Society Foundations, Fundación Segarra Boerman & Neighborhood Funders Group

The Community Land Trust for Sustainable Agriculture (FiTiCAS) will create the first land project for ecological farmers in Vieques in partnership with La Colmena Cimarrona. The organization has grants from the Segarra Boerman Foundation, Filantropía Puerto Rico, the Neighborhood Funders Group and the Open Society Foundations, along with the support of multiple collaborators and private donors.

Hispanic federation logo

Hispanic Federation

Has created a collaborative fund (CTC/EITC PUERTO RICO 2022 FUND) as part of the collaborative working alliance between Instituto del Desarrollo de la Juventud (IDJ), Hispanic Federation (HF) and Espacios Abiertos (EA) to address a massive integrated (EITC/CTC) awareness media campaign and an Island-wide coordinated deployment and outreach effort for free tax prep and filing for both EITC (local) and CTC (federal). Committed funds at the moment include: Annie E Casey, Economic Opportunity Funders. Rockefeller Foundation, Open Society Foundation, Schusterman Foundation and WK Kellogg Foundation. The representatives for this campaign are: Cecille Blondet (Espacios Abiertos), Sarah Vazquez (Instituto del Desarrollo de la Juventud), and Charlotte Gossett Navarro (Hispanic Federation)

Calls for Submissions

Grantmakers in the Arts

Grantmakers in the Arts are announcing the Cultural Policy Action Lab, a leadership and professional development community program for public sector workers who seek to advance racial equity through arts, culture, and public policy. Applications for this learning cohort will open on March 8, 2022 and will close on March 29, 2022.

Liberty Foundation

As part of its activity roster to observe International Women’s Day 2022, the Liberty Foundation, announced its NextGen Tech Scholar Program for Puerto Rican public middle and high school female students. The program is a 20-week online afterschool technical training residency that focuses on coding and programming for local public middle and high school female students between the ages of 13 and 17.

Plaza Las Américas Foundation

The Mano Amiga Program of the Plaza Las Américas Foundation and the Plaza Del Caribe Foundation, invites nonprofit entities from Puerto Rico’s metro and southern areas to request donations for direct service programs to individuals. The organizations must offer services in the areas of education, art and culture, entrepreneurship, health, and environment, and they will have from March 1-31 to submit their
proposals.
