The study aimed to capture a holistic understanding of Puerto Rico’s craft community by assessing annual earnings, asset ownership, liabilities, and income sources. Additionally, it explored makers’ work identities and aspirations for future earnings, identified barriers to achieving financial sustainability, and contextualized these findings within the territory’s cost of living and broader economic conditions. This study was made possible by funding from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
