Members Brunch Febrero 2026

En muchos sentidos el primer Members Brunch de 2026 fue una continuación de las conversaciones que iniciamos en nuestro 2025 Annual Convening: Connecting Knowledge, Catalyzing Change. El pasado 19 de febrero nos reunimos con nuestra membresía en Hijole, Guaynabo, para mirarnos como colectivo, compartir prioridades y comenzar a trazar, en conjunto, el rumbo de este año.
La conversación comenzó con cada miembro compartiendo las prioridades de su fundación para el año. Resonaron con fuerza el desarrollo de nuevos planes estratégicos, la creación de alianzas, el fortalecimiento institucional y el cuidado de los líderes del sector. También destacaron la educación, la justicia educativa y el medio ambiente como áreas críticas para el presente y futuro de Puerto Rico.

100% dijo que “El evento reforzó la conexión entre pares” y “se sienten parte de un colectivo”.
Surgió un diálogo clave: ¿cómo estamos contando el trabajo que se hace desde la filantropía en Puerto Rico? ¿Estamos generando visibilidad, credibilidad y confianza? No basta con hacer el trabajo; hay que articularlo. Para ello, es necesario invertir en recopilación de datos, desarrollo de historias y una narrativa colectiva que nos permita hablar el lenguaje de quienes toman decisiones y demostrar la capacidad, creatividad y rigor del ecosistema filantrópico en la isla.
Durante esta discusión validamos que el trabajo que estamos haciendo en el Observatorio de Datos es de gran apoyo para el sector y compila mucho de lo que se reiteró en el encuentro: datos, alianzas, medición de impacto y herramientas útiles para fortalecer al sector social en el archipiélago.
Confiamos en que los siguientes eventos de membresía mantendrán este espíritu de colaboración, acción colectiva y estrategia para lograr un Puerto Rico más justo y equitativo.

In many ways, the first Members Brunch of 2026 was a continuation of the conversations we began at our 2025 Annual Convening: Connecting Knowledge, Catalyzing Change. On February 19, we gathered with our membership at Hijole in Guaynabo to come together as a collective, share priorities, and begin charting the course for the year ahead.
The conversation began with each member sharing their foundation’s priorities for the year. Several themes resonated strongly: the development of new strategic plans, the creation of partnerships, institutional strengthening, and supporting the well-being of sector leaders. Education, educational justice, and the environment also stood out as critical areas for Puerto Rico’s present and future.

A key dialogue emerged: how are we telling the story of the work being done through philanthropy in Puerto Rico? Are we generating visibility, credibility, and trust? Doing the work is not enough; it must be articulated. This requires investment in data collection, storytelling, and a shared narrative that enables us to speak the language of decision-makers and demonstrate the capacity, creativity, and rigor of the island’s philanthropic ecosystem.
During this discussion, we reaffirmed that the work we are advancing through the Data Observatory is a meaningful resource for the sector. It brings together many of the elements emphasized throughout the gathering: data, partnerships, impact measurement, and practical tools to strengthen the social sector across the archipelago.
We are confident that the upcoming membership events will continue to nurture this spirit of collaboration, collective action, and strategic alignment in pursuit of a more just and equitable Puerto Rico.
