Sirviendo al ecosistema filantrópico
Acabó marzo y con la llegada de abril hacemos un resumen de todas las actividades que enriquecieron la experiencia de nuestros miembros a la vez que fortalecieron nuestros vínculos con el sector social. Entérate de todo lo que estuvo pasando y apúntate para lo próximo.
Funders Listening Community of Practice (27 de febrero - 1ro de marzo)
A medida que trabajamos para promover la equidad en Puerto Rico, nos sentimos honradas de ser parte de Funder Listening Community of Practice (FLCP, por sus siglas en inglés) que apoya espacios para que organizaciones como la nuestra avancen su misión. Como parte de nuestra misión de promover la equidad, nos juntamos con otras PSO que también buscan optimizar sus estrategias y culturas de escucha activa.
Members onboarding (7 marzo)
Nos dimos la bienvenida al nuevo año como miembros de este gran ecosistema filantrópico que esperamos expandir durante este nuevo ciclo. Estamos muy entusiasmadas con todas las conexiones y colaboraciones que saldrán de nuestros encuentros.
Diálogos de acción (Action Dialogue) (16 marzo)
Continuamos fortaleciendo nuestros vínculos entre miembros para promover equidad y claridad en cuanto a los asuntos de interés social que nos interesa impactar. Asimismo, nuestros miembros tuvieron la oportunidad de participar de un webinar facilitado por We Are Rally que presentó un análisis de la cobertura sobre Puerto Rico en los medios de Estados Unidos gracias a un estudio comisionado por la Liga de Ciudades.
Learning Journey (23 marzo)
Como parte de nuestra misión del 2023 de explorar cómo se practica la equidad, sostuvimos un encuentro entre algunos de nuestros miembros y el Centro de Apoyo Mutuo (CAM) – Las Carolinas en Caguas. Unas mujeres tremendas que han rescatado un espacio que antes era una escuela elemental y ahora alimentan a envejecientes en su comunidad.
Member’s meet up (30 de marzo)
Como de costumbre, nuestros miembros tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir y relajarse del trabajo de la semana mientras disfrutaron de un rato agradable y buenas conversaciones. Tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir con Laura OM, estilista, empresaria puertorriqueña, creadora de Maranta Power, productos que celebran la individualidad y el abrazo al cabello rizo, en su nuevo espacio Angelina, donde nos compartió sobre su experiencia como empresaria en Puerto Rico.

Robusteciendo la justicia social (24 marzo)
Seis de las siete organizaciones que componen este cohorte (Sembrando Sentido, Liga de Ciudades, FURIA, UPR Resiliency Law Center, Centro para la Reconstrucción de la Hábitat y Fideicomiso del Caño Martín Peña) tuvieron su quinta reunión y comenzaron su segundo año de subvención pensando, cuestionando y problematizando el desplazamiento como asunto de país. Se dieron dinámicas en las que hubo propuestas y retroalimentación entre organizaciones. Ya andamos preparándonos para continuar las conversaciones en la próxima.

Funders Listening Community of Practice (February 27 to March 1st)
As we work to promote equity in Puerto Rico, we are honored to be part of the Funder Listening Community of Practice (FLCP), which supports spaces for organizations like ours to advance their mission. As part of our mission to promote equity, we partner with other PSOs who are also looking to optimize their active listening strategies and cultures.
Members onboarding (March 7)
We welcomed this new year as members of this great philanthropic ecosystem that we hope to expand during this new cycle. We are very excited about all the connections and collaborations that will come out of our gatherings.
Action Dialogue (March 16)
We continue to strengthen our links between members to promote equity and clarity regarding the issues of social interest that we are interested to impact. Although, our members had the opportunity to participate in a webinar facilitated by We Are Rally that presented an analysis of the coverage of Puerto Rico in the United States media thanks to a study commissioned by la Liga de Ciudades.
Learning Journey (March 23)
As part of our 2023 mission, to explore how equity is practiced, we held a visit with our members to the Centro de Apoyo Mutuo (CAM) – Las Carolinas in Caguas. There are some tremendous women who have rescued a space that used to be an elementary school and now cook and feed the elderly in their community.
Member’s meet up (March 30)
As usual, our members had the opportunity to share and relax from the week’s work while having a good time and good conversations. We had the opportunity to share with Laura OM, a puertorican stylist and businesswoman, creator of Maranta Power, products that celebrate individuality and the embrace of curly hair, in her new space Angelina, where she told us about her work experience in Puerto Rico.

Robusteciendo la justicia social (March 24)
Six of the seven organizations that make up this cohort (Sembrando Sentido, Liga de Ciudades, FURIA, UPR Resiliency Law Center, Centro para la Reconstrucción de la Hábitat y Fideicomiso del Caño Martín Peña) had their fifth meeting and began their second year of grant thinking, questioning and problematizing displacement as an important issue of the country. There were dynamics in which there were proposals and feedback between organizations. We are already preparing to continue the conversations in the next one.
